Give Where You Live

Mark your calendars—March 9 is almost here! For the fourth year, Fairfield County’s Community Foundation is hosting our region’s biggest philanthropic event to inspire communities to GIVE WHERE YOU LIVE. Last year, 11,000 donations raised over $1 million for 410 local nonprofits in a single 24-hour period. This year is set to break records–and you can be a part of this special opportunity to support your Bethel Public Library.

The Library, through the Friends of the Library, is thrilled to be a Community Partner of Giving Day. On March 9, we’ll have giving stations available at the Library for anyone to stop by and make a donation. If you prefer, you can donate online from home. Remember! Fairfield County Giving Day is One Day Only, and donations must be made online through the FCGives website.

As a thank you gift, the first 50 donors to give $50 or more will receive a free Bethel Public Library coffee mug. The first 50 donors to give $100 or more will receive a free Bethel Public Library coffee mug as well as a Library tote bag. Should you choose to pledge $500 or more, you’ll receive a plaque on the Library’s Donor Wall engraved with an inscription of your choice.

To encourage others to donate, why not consider being a match donor? For example, you might pledge to match the first 5 gifts of $10 (for a total gift of $50). For that level of pledge, we would offer you a Library mug as a thank you gift.

The funds raised on Giving Day will be used for the following: programs for people of all ages, including dramatic and musical performances, to support the Library’s Long Range Plan; Makerspace supplies for 3D printing and other craft and maker activities, collection development to complete our Academy Award Winners DVD collection, laminating equipment and supplies, end of range book display cases to promote staff favorites, additional signage, and a white board and easel for the Technology Center.

For more information, please contact me at the Library, and thank you in advance for your support.
