Introducing New Library Director, Megan Dean

I am excited to join the staff of the Bethel Public Library as the new Library Director, and to be part of a passionate and engaging group of employees. I started out in the New York Public Library system before working at the North Castle Public Library. After spending ten years as the coordinator of Youth Services and the past few years as Library Director, I believe I bring with me an optimistic view of libraries and their future.

I have been a resident of Bethel and patron of the Bethel Public Library for over seven years. Going from being a user of the Bethel Public Library, to its Director, I feel gives me a unique perspective on the library experience. I look forward to continuing all the wonderful services the library staff provide, as well as expanding on the services that are provided, in order to strengthen our commitment to the community.

You can expect to see me working at the public desks, and attending programs and community events. Starting on September 26th, I will be offering a program within the Children’s Department: Wiggly Storytime with the Director. Tuesdays at 10:30 am, parents/caregivers with children ages 1 to 4 years old are welcome to attend a half-hour storytime. Afterward, everyone is encouraged to play and chat.
