The Michele Arnhold Children’s Library invites children and their parents to visit the “Websites for Kids & Parents” page on the Library’s website. But before you
do, please read below for some highlights…
Explora Elementary yields search results that include full-text articles, books, journals, as well as videos about animals, geography, music, math, science, health, and social studies. Some even have lexile measures!
National Geographic Kids is another great database for curious young minds. Searches yield videos, pictures, ebooks (which can be read online or listened to!), as well as magazine articles. Topics covered include animals, the environment, history, science, and technology.
Britannica Library: Children offers facts about animals, plants, and places; fine arts, music, math, science, and social studies; world religions and language arts; sports and hobbies; plus much more! Search results have 2 reading levels and audio recordings.
The Connecticut State Library offers a variety of resources for educators, parents, and children too numerous to list here. We encourage you to check them out!
