We Help Promote Local Organizations

By Lynn Rosato, Library Director
May/June 2016

You may have noticed the new digital signage board hanging above the bulletin board in the lobby. If so, you’ve seen its bright, colorful display. Thanks to a generous donation from a local patron, we were able to purchase the HDTV and media player necessary to implement this new service.

The purpose of the board is to promote community organizations as well as Library and community events. Recently, we ran a presentation by the Bethel Land Trust, and used the display to promote Fairfield County Giving Day. We are looking forward to showcasing other local nonprofit organizations as well. In the queue right now are Bethel Arts, the Friends of the Bethel Library, and the Bethel Garden Club.

To showcase an organization, please submit either 10-15 photos in jpeg format, or a Power Point presentation that would include photos and text briefly describing the organization’s mission and accomplishments. A short video also is acceptable. Keep in mind that the display is visual, so the presentation should be comprised of mostly pictures and/or graphics.

Whether or not a presentation is submitted, an organization may submit fliers announcing upcoming events hosted or sponsored by the group. These must be edited so they can be easily read in the 20-second display time allotted, and they must be converted to jpeg documents before submission.

If you’re interested in utilizing this new service, please contact me for more information at 203-794-8756 x6. I’m looking forward to hearing from you!
