Library Board and Staff Recognized for Service to the Bethel Community

Recently, the Bethel Public Library Board of Directors recognized two employees for their service to the Library. The Bethel Republican Town Committee honored Lynn Rosato, Director of the Bethel Public Library, for her service to the Bethel community. On Monday, April 25, 2016, the Bethel Public Library Board of Directors recognized two employees for their service to the Library. Chairman Ted Stevenson presented certificates of appreciation from the Board to Olivia Von Kohorn to recognize her for her role in making Fairfield County Giving Day a success, and to Amy Schumann to recognize her for writing and receiving a $7,500 grant for the Library, to bring technology and cultural programs to young adults. Congratulations, Amy and Olivia!

Then, on Saturday, April 30, 2016, the Bethel Republican Town Committee honored Lynn Rosato, Director of the Bethel Public Library. She was presented with the John L. Thiele Distinguished Service Award for her 16 years of dedicated service to the Bethel community, and for moving the Library’s $10 million project to completion, making it the crown jewel and cornerstone of our community. Congratulations, Lynn!

Also honored were Stuart Carlsen, who received the Republican of the Year award, and Don Goodrich, Chairman of the Inland-Wetlands Commission, who received the Denis J. Riordan Award.

On April 9, 2016, the Bethel Democratic Town Committee honored Mary O’Leary, longtime member of the Bethel Public Library Board of Directors. She was presented with the Bill & Jane Shannon Community Service Award for contributing to the growth and improvement of the Town of Bethel. Among her many civic and public activities, Mary has long been involved in the Bethel Public Library. She served on the Board of Directors for many years, as Chairman and library supporter. She was appointed to again serve in 2012 and remains an active board member. Mary was also a founding member of the Friends of the Bethel Public Library, and currently serves as Secretary. Congratulations, Mary!
