How Well Do You Know Your Library?
By Lynn Rosato, Library Director
November/December 2015
Everyone knows the Library is the place to go to borrow books and audiovisual materials. Most know there are computers for public use. But did you know the Bethel Library offers more than 100 services?
Library staff uses many marketing tools to promote the services we offer. One of these is the Spotlight on Services e-newsletter. If you’re on our email list, then you receive the Spotlight in your in-box on the first of every month.
Spotlight is designed to highlight one or more of the many services the Library offers. Articles are written by the staff who know the services best. Do you know the Library has a “Back to School” collection in the Children’s Library? Have you heard about the Arduino workshops for teens? How about the public fax service, or Learning Express database? If you get the Spotlight, then you know.
Spotlight topics also are featured in the weekly Wowbrary lists. Wowbrary is available via email or directly through our website. Have you used a public computer lately? You may have noticed that Spotlight topics are highlighted in the information box in the upper left corner of the login in screen.
I encourage you to get to know your Library better. The best way, of course, is to visit us frequently. Sign up for our email list. You’ll not only receive the monthly Spotlights, but you’ll be able to choose to receive program information, too. Be in the know, and take advantage of the many services your Library has for you!
