In the Spotlight: Exciting News For Teens!

If you’re in Grades 6-12, you don’t want to miss these exciting new programs. If you know someone that age, you don’t want them to miss these exciting programs, so please pass this along!

Recently, the Teen Services Department received a grant for just under $7,500.00 through the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA)* to provide innovative programming for teens through June 2016. Programs begin in September and offer something interesting for everyone.

On September 3, the first awesome program debuts–Arduino for Teens! Don’t miss this opportunity to learn how to use and program a microcontroller. Read more about this six-week series.

On October 7, we start our creative writing course with popular local author Lauren Baratz-Logsted. Hone your skills for the school year ahead!  Read more about this four-week series.

Find your inner comedian every Monday night in November by taking part in our improv class, led by Danbury’s InnerACT Theatre! Read more about this four-week series.

We’ll also offer training sessions to use the Library’s new 3D printer. And, as we move into 2016, we’ll be offering programs working with Raspberry Pi’s, littleBits, MaKey MaKeys, and Squishy Circuits. So stay tuned!
