The American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), a not-for-profit organization comprising 24 medical specialty boards, is the entity overseeing physician certification in the United States. ABMS Directory provides certification status and professional information about board certified physicians from the 24 Member Boards, in more than 150 specialties and subspecialties. It is designed to help library patrons locate specialists based on geographic area as well as specialty or subspecialty.
