Applicants must be able to work a set schedule for a few hours each week. Some duties adult volunteers may be asked to help with include: shelving books and other materials, keeping books in order on the shelves, and assisting with clerical and technical tasks in the various departments. Note: If you are interested in delivering items to homebound patrons, please do not use this general application. Instead, please use the application listed below.
Applicants must be comfortable driving a vehicle, and interacting with homebound Bethel residents at their homes. Duties include picking up and delivering library materials to homebound patrons. Library volunteers who provide delivery of materials to homebound residents use their own personal vehicles, and are required to provide proof of personal automobile insurance coverage.
During the school year, students must be at least 12 years old or in 6th grade to volunteer. During the summer, students must be entering at least 9th grade in the fall in order to volunteer. Please be aware that teen volunteer positions are extremely limited. Some duties may include shelving books and other materials, keeping books in order on the shelves, and assisting with clerical and technical tasks in the various departments.
