In the summer of 2012, Reverend Dr. Dean Ahlberg, Minister of the First Church of Christ Congregational in Redding, spent his sabbatical in Europe researching and embracing the art of Vincent van Gogh. In this fascinating lecture, Dr. Ahlberg shares what he learned about van Gogh’s early years, including his family life and education, the surprising journey that ultimately led him to his calling, his productive yet painful stay in Arles and Saint Remy, as well as a brief exploration into the mysterious circumstances surrounding van Gogh’s death.
