The Bethel Public Library subscribes to several research resources for your use. Access is free but you will need to have a current Bethel Public Library card to access databases from outside the library.

Library Edition
Britannica Online for Kids
Search the Elementary Encyclopedia or the Merriam-Webster Student Dictionary and Thesaurus. Log in then click on kids logo on top right.
EBSCO Animals
Provides in-depth information on a variety of topics relating to animals. The database consists of indexing, abstracts, and full text records describing the nature and habitat of familiar animals.
eLibrary
Contains thousands of full text articles from books, magazines, newspapers, and radio transcripts, with maps, atlases, pictures, and streaming audio and video files. Includes more than 150,000 educational web links and lesson plans. BookCarts enable teachers to build reading lists, topic pages, project pages, and lesson plans. Search options include reading level and Lexile search.
Funk & Wagnall's New World Encyclopedia Connect from Home
This database provides over 25,000 encyclopedic entries covering a variety of subject areas.
InfoAnytime
Chat live with a professional librarian who will assist you with your query 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
InfoTrac Junior Edition
Multi-source, curriculum based reference tool for junior high and middle school students. An iCONN database.
InfoTrac Student Edition
Multi-source, curriculum based reference tool for high school students. An iCONN database.
Kids InfoBits
For children from kindergarten through grade 5; includes full-text age appropriate magazines, images, encyclopedias, maps, etc. An iCONN database.
Kids Search
Icon based search for grades K through 8. An easy to use and appealing way to search many topics.
Primary Search
Provides full text for nearly 70 popular, magazines for elementary school research. All full text articles included in the database are assigned a reading level indicator (Lexiles), and full text information dates as far back as 1990. This database is updated daily on EBSCOhost.

Pictorial search for children including Magazine articles, Pictures, Encyclopedias, Animals, Dictionaries.
Student Research Center
For: Middle School students and up
A student-friendly version of the History and Science Reference Centers that provides the same high quality content. Choose content sources (Magazines, Newspapers, Biographies, Country Reports, Film & Video), browse by topic headings, use an online dictionary and encyclopedia, explore top searches of the day, and even limit searches according to reading levels.
